The Mason County Historical Society is a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates three distinct historic sites: Historic White Pine Village, the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, and the Mason County Emporium & Archives— Home of the Rose Hawley Archives. We receive no ongoing government subsidy. Your gift directly funds our mission.

When you give to the Annual Fund, your donation goes where it is needed most — whether that’s keeping the lights on in a 19th-century farmhouse, funding History in Action Day, purchasing archival materials, or updating an exhibit at the Maritime Museum.

• Educational Programs — Workshops, school tours, Living History Days, and community events
• Exhibit Development — Creating and updating exhibits across all three sites
• Facility Operations — Utility costs, insurance, and general maintenance
• Technology & Supplies — Archival materials, office technology, and digital tools
• Staffing — Salaries for historians, educators, and support staff
• Preservation Projects — Conservation of historical artifacts, documents, and 30+ historic buildings
