Hamlin Lake Cabin

A century-old log cabin donated by the Boulee family and lovingly restored to share the story of early Michigan resort life along Hamlin Lake.

For generations, Hamlin Lake has drawn families to Mason County’s shores. The Hamlin Lake Cabin brings that tradition to life within Historic White Pine Village, offering a rare glimpse of the rustic resort culture that defined leisure in early 20th-century Michigan.

In 2014, Alfred and Donna Boulee generously donated this authentic log cabin, once part of their family’s lakeside resort, to the Village. After more than a century of use, the structure required significant restoration, and the care taken to preserve it reflects the community’s deep commitment to honoring local heritage.

Today, the cabin stands as a tangible link to the early days when Hamlin Lake was a summer destination for families across the Midwest, and a reminder that recreation and community have always been part of the Mason County story.
